  • Make sure you connect the Netgear extender to a power source and place it close to your Wi-Fi router.
  • Once you have completed configuring the extender, you may move it to the room or place that you wish to have it at.
  • Once you’re extender is connected to a power source, wait for some time until you notice the power LED lights glowing properly.
  • If your NETGEAR wireless range extender has a PC to Extender LED or a Device to Extender LED, make sure that it is lit.
    If the LED’s are not glowing, then remove both ends of the Ethernet cable that is connecting your range extender to your main Wi-Fi router and plug it in again.
  • In your web browser’s address bar, search for the extender’s default IP address: ‘192.168.1.250’.
  • If you still cannot access your extender, reset your browser and try again.
Try using a different web browser and see if the issue still persists.
    • Connect your PC to the extender using an Ethernet cable.
    • Make sure you give your computer a static IP address.
      Before you change any network settings, note your current Default gateway address (Windows) or Router (Mac) address. Use the IP address as 192.168.1.249 and the subnet mask as 255.255.255.0.

Netgear AX1800 Connect with Ethernet:
  1. First, connect your Netgear extender to your laptop/computer using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Launch a web browser on the same device. Make sure the browser is up-to-date.
  3. Type http://mywifiext.net into your web browser’s address bar and press Enter or Search.
  4. You will be redirected to the login page where you can enter the username and password that you chose during the configurational set-up.
  5. Click on the ‘LOG IN’ button.
  6. Choose Setup > Wireless Settings.
  7. Under Security Options, check to see that the value in the Password (Network Key) field matches your router password. Always verify before you move to the next steps.
  8. Click on Apply.

How do I factory reset my Netgear EAX15 extender’s settings?
  1. Make sure that your extender’s Power LED light is on.
  2. Locate your extender’s Reset or Factory Reset button.
    The Reset button is generally located on the extender’s back, bottom, or side panel.
  3. Use a paper clip or a pin to press and hold the ‘Reset’ button for seven seconds.
  4. Once you release the Reset or Factory Reset button, your extender will reset.
How do I update my EAX15 extender’s firmware?
